E-Waste Recycling Event Collects Over 11,000 lbs.

 

Our E-Waste Recycling Collection Event on Saturday, Jan. 31 was a fabulous success, aided by extensive promotion (including the Foster City Islander and Electronic Board, San Mateo Daily Journal, NextDoor and Hillsborough Together websites, Craigslist and PTO announcements), sunny weather and the leadership of our E-Waste co-chairs Hamid Moinpour and Wendy Londa with assistance from Grad Night Fundraising Co-Chairs Carolyn Chandler and Jean Tom.

 

By late morning, the recycling vendor's truck was completely filled and had headed back to Union City to unload.  As the day went on, the cycle was repeated three more times, netting over 25 Gaylord (5'x4'x4') boxes of electronic waste that would have otherwise been discarded in landfill.
