ABOUT GRAD NIGHT

What is Grad Night?

Grad Night is a San Mateo High School tradition held immediately after the graduation ceremony.  It's a celebration for the students: a time to share memories and celebrate all their classmates one last time.  For the parents, the goal is to create a FUN and SAFE Graduation party.

Who Plans Grad Night?

We, the parents, plan this party for our seniors.  We choose the theme, site, games, activities, food, entertainment--whatever we think they will enjoy.

When and What Time is Grad Night?
Grad Night begins immediately following Graduation on Thursday May 28, 2015. The Grad Night Party will last approximately 5 hours.

Where is Grad Night?

The location for the 2015 Grad Night has been carefully selected and secured.  For security reasons, the Grad Night venue will remain confidential throughout the planning process of the school year.  This party is strictly for the Class of 2015 and is not open to anyone else other than invited chaperones.  The Co-Chairs will be the only members privy to the location until the actual evening of graduation.

How Do the Students Get to Grad Night?

At approximately 9:30pm the students board buses and are driven to the Grad Night site.  After the festivities end, they return to school on the same buses.  The 2015 Grad Night Committee oversees the transportation and on-site security.

Who Pays for Grad Night?

Students buy a ticket that will defray some of the costs, but not the entire cost.  Parents need to raise the balance of the funds needed with Fundraisers.  Our goal is that the Grad Night ticket will cost approximately $90.  The school does not subsidize this event.

Update: Due to succesful fundraising and generous donations, the cost of Grad Night is only $60 per student, much lower than our original goal!  Thank you to all who donated and volunteered!
